Genome Assembly Data

Hybrid White Spruce (PG29) genome draft assembly

The SMarTForests Project had released a first assembly of the white spruce genome (Picea glauca) (PG29) through the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI): [Bioproject PRJNA83435,]. In addition to the NCBI portal, we have also provided a separate portal for the draft assemblies. The initial assembly of the white spruce (PG29) genome sequence of an individual, diploid tree was based on shotgun sequencing using a high performance sequencing platform (HiSeq2000, MiSeq). We have produced 4 drafts of the PG29 White spruce assembly. The current white spruce genome assembly data release aims to support research and development in the scientific community according to the principles outlined in the Toronto workshop on pre-publication sharing of genomic data.

White Spruce WS77111 genome draft assembly

The SMarTForests Project had released a first assembly of the white spruce genome (Picea glauca) (WS77111) through the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI): [Bioproject PRJNA242552]

In addition to the NCBI portal, we have also provided a separate portal for the draft assemblies. The initial assembly of the white spruce (WS77111) genome sequence of an individual, diploid tree was based on shotgun sequencing using a high performance sequencing platform (HiSeq2000, HiSeq2500, MiSeq). We have produced the first draft of the WS77111 White spruce assembly. The current white spruce genome assembly data release aims to support research and development in the scientific community according to the principles outlined in the Toronto workshop on pre-publication sharing of genomic data.
